God doesn't promise freedom from suffering. Instead, he assures us he'll always walk with us. Evans understands this "tough love" firsthand – in less than two years' time, he lost his wife, father, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces, and watched both his daughters receive cancer diagnoses.
